| EMERGENCY AND BACK-UP POWER
SYSTEMS SAMPLE PROJECT
The
project that originally brought Vegas to Roatan was the design
and installation of the generator system at Casa Warren, Coxen
Hole's anchor grocery and department store, and one of the
oldest, established major businesses on the island.
Our most recent generator installation has been to bring the
necessary backup power system to one of the island's newest
and most appreciated businesses-Blue Harbor Plantation, a
hydroponics farm that grows cool weather vegetables in the
tropics. Because the task at hand requires that the water
used to supply nutrients to the produce be "cooled"
in addition to being pumped, a power interruption of as little
as 20 minutes could spell disaster for the crops. Dependable
backup power was a must! We analyzed Blue Harbor's requirements,
then set them up with an appropriate generator and the all-important
automatic transfer switching equipment.
For
Blue Harbor Plantation, as with many other clients, we also
performed a wide range of services, including motor control
of the nutrient pumps, extensive rewiring, distribution system
for the greenhouse, and a reverse osmosis water system.
"An electrical outage of only 20 minutes
can wipe out 2 months of production. That is why we went to
Vegas Electric for the design, installation, and maintenance
of our entire system."
Val Eylands, Blue Harbor Plantation
