Telecommunications Sample Project

Through our partnership with ISSI, providers of satellite telephone equipment and services, we have performed numerous satphone installations for residential users as well as many commercial systems, including Anthony's Key Resort, Palmetto Bay, and the Henry Morgan Resort.

Henry Morgan Resort's system presented some unique challenges because of its remote and "off grid" location in the West Bay area of the island. For Henry Morgan Resort, we designed a total communications system using a combination of satellite and cellular phone technologies. Vegas Electric's knowledge of phone systems and how to combine equipment for optimal out-of-the-ordinary systems was critical to realizing a smooth and dependable solution for this communication system. The PABX system was set up using 8 CO lines and has now been expanded to include a total of 144 analog and digital extensions. Featured in their system is a real-time "call accounting" element, which allows them to bill phone charges simply and accurately. We protected the system with an isolated grounding and provided uninterrupted power (UPS) to both the phone and computer systems.

Vegas Electric has solved numerous other unique communication challenges for our clients, such as these two:

• When Temptation Island filmed in multiple remote locations all over Roatan, they called on Vegas Electric to install a radio repeater dispatch system which utilized three base stations and numerous mobile locations.
• We also designed and installed an extensive PBX system for Roatan's Dive and Yacht Club, described further under Commercial Electrical Construction.
